Sony showcase new half mix-effect software

The new Sony half mix effect (M/E) software, launched officially at this year's NAB, adds an additional 0.5 M/E bank to any 1, 2 or 3 M/E DVS-9000 production switcher.
The DVS-9000 is now available in any of the following M/E sizes: 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, or 4. This combined by the modularity of the control panel allows customers to specify a system to suit their exact requirements. Outside broadcasters and production houses no longer have to procure a full M/E bank for a program/preset (P/P) operation but can achieve the required functionality through the purchase of the 0.5 M/E software.
The new 0.5 M/E software provides all the necessary functionality for a P/P row operation. Being a software only solution saves valuable rackspace and money and allows users to configure a 2.5 M/E system in the smaller (4RU) DVS-9000SF chassis.
