Avid announce new ABVB upgrade programme

Avid Technology Europe Ltd have announced that, with effect from 30 September 2002 - and some four years after Avid moved from ABVB to the new Meridien hardware - they will be discontinuing trade-up credits for old ABVB systems.
To show the company’s gratitude to the loyalty of early Avid system users, owners of these older systems are eligible for additional credits enabling them to maximise their upgrade value.
The extensive ABVB upgrade programme, which will run across Europe and EMEA between now and the end of September, is designed to help owners of older ABVB technology to upgrade to HD, transition to shared storage with Avid Unity MediaNet and upgrade to new state-of-the-art technology by offering a series of additional trade in credits for their ABVB systems.
“We are offering a range of promotions that will not only be attractive for individual system upgrades but will also give customers the opportunity to trade in a number of older systems against a single new product, easing the transition to shared storage and even HD,” said Jeff Stewart, European Product Marketing Director.
He added: “This is our most extensive ABVB upgrade promotion ever. Our upcoming releases of Avid Media Composer v11, Avid Symphony v4 and Avid Xpress v5 are the most robust in years and all systems purchased under this programme will include this latest software release. There has never been a better time to upgrade.”
