Tedial Broadcast Asia 2012 Preview

Tedial has developed and deployed some of the most sophisticated software available for broadcast ranging from Media Asset Management (MAM) and Hierarchical Storage Management (HSM) to Business Process Management (BPM).
With more than a decade’s experience the company’s innovative technology allows broadcasters to take full advantage of file-based workflows by optimising and automating operational processes.
Its solutions are vendor and hardware independent releasing customers from proprietary constraints and thereby significantly increasing productivity and ROI. Tedial is unique among its competitors for having a flexible BPM solution that enables the creation of any type of workflow from the ground up including: ingest, publishing, promos, news, sports, compliance, editing, backup and archive.
Asia debut:
• New Tarsys (MAM) Client GUI: Following in-depth feedback from customers Tedial has redesigned the interface to its Tarsys MAM solution; further enhancing operator experience and providing additional features for cataloguing, editing and exporting media to third-party systems. The new GUI has been specifically designed to simplify collaborative working between professionals in any media enterprise and beyond.
• New Ficus (BPM) Web Client: To enable the implementation, monitoring and execution of production workflows in a full web-based environment, Tedial will unveil its Ficus Web Client. Delivering unique features including proxy editing followed by the automatic creation of a high resolution version, the Ficus Web Client makes tasks such as segmentation of media as well as compliance editing possible. The new Ficus Web Client will further simplify business procedures and workflows.
Media Process Manager (MPM): Tedial’s renowned enterprise integration system MPM is based on layered logic. The latest version supports ingest of high-resolution formats such as DNxHD and XDCam directly into an Avid environment. Further highlighting its tight integration with Avid Tedial will show for the first time in Asia how metadata can be ingested and edited directly into Avid Interplay using its Tedial Capture client.
Also showing:
•AST: The archive is the most important asset of any broadcasting organisation and a good archive system is the cornerstone on which media asset management and business process management systems are built. Tedial’s AST automates media and metadata transfers between fast local disk storage and data-tape robotic libraries as required by the MAM, Traffic and Playout Automation systems and their workflows.
•Media Amigo: A common challenge faced by broadcasters and media organisations that have successfully digitalised their archives is how to distribute content to the outside world. Media companies want to open new revenue sources by sharing content with other companies, and to achieve this, they need a platform providing the means to capitalise their archive content and to obtain media from others. Tedial will show how this can be achieved with its Media Amigo cloud exchange platform designed for the interchange of content among users or systems located in different sites.
