Location focus at The Production Show 2003

The Production Show, the UK's largest event for the production, broadcast, post-production and effects industry, have announced this year's new signings for their Locations Village and a series of free workshops being hosted by the London Film Commission.
As Europe's only location industry forum, the Locations Village represents countries from all around the world from the Canaries to the Arctic. Over 30 companies will be exhibiting at the Village in May and new signings for this year's show include FilMiami, Film Greenland, The Bluebell Railway, Nevada Film Office, The Greenwich Film Office and North West Vision, the new screen and media agency for North West of England.
This broad offering from within The Locations Village will enable producers, directors and location scouts to see first hand what is available, from the practical to the more scenic environment, as well as learning about how to utilise the resources correctly.
Visitors will be invited to participate in The London Film Commissions workshops, which will cover a range of topical issues affecting shooting on locations. The first on Tuesday May 20, entitled 'Street Filming in London', will focus on how to organise street filming in London and cover issues affecting such as the rules and regulations, the film-makers code of practice, the borough film offices across the capital, the application forms, parking, deadlines as well as the locations owned by boroughs.
The second on Wednesday May 21 will be 'Filming in London: Working with the Key London Agencies' with a focus on setting up filming in central London and working closely with key agencies such as Trafalgar Square, Transport for London, the Tube, Port of London Authority and some major London landmarks.
The show is also an opportunity for the smaller, lesser known locations and the more remote areas across the Globe. Vilborg Einarsdottir, Executive Producer of Film Greenland, comments on their presence at the show: "For a production service company based in the far north of Greenland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands, it is essential to have the opportunity to expose our services at international gatherings, which in the past we have done so at the Locations Expo in Los Angeles. This year we're looking forward to exhibiting at The Production Show, as we feel it is our best opportunity for exposure to the UK and European market."
Imogen Jones, Event Manager, The Production Show said: "With our largest ever number of visitors last year we are pleased to see that there is again a wide variety of locations who have chosen to exhibit again as well as some fantastic new editions. Both the high quality and quantity of exhibitors and visitors confirms that The Production Show is the only event that covers everything involved in production, post-production and broadcast."
