BVA Awards To Return In 2012

The British Video Association (BVA) has confirmed that the BVA Awards will return to the Old Billingsgate venue next year with a "Best of British" theme on Thursday 26th April 2012.
Lavinia Carey, Director General of the British Video Association said: "With the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the Olympic Games and the Paralympics all taking place in 2012, this is a great year to celebrate our brilliant British video industry".
Award sponsors for the event so far include AGI and Delga Print and entertainment sponsors will include Dubbs-Eyeframe, Handle Recruitment and Koch Media.
According to the association the video industry releases about 8,000 titles a year, on which consumers spent £2.3 billion in 2010- this awards event will be used by BVA to celebrate the success of the industry and key players within it.
BVA said: "It is the single most valuable part of the audiovisual sector in terms of generating returns on investment for production."
The BVA’s members include film companies, television companies and independent labels who produce, license and distribute pre-recorded video entertainment, covering film, sport & fitness, music, TV, children’s and special interest programming. Its members account for some 90% of the sector.
