Tate Begins New BBC S&PP Chairman Role

The former BBC Director of Policy and Strategy, John Tate, has undertaken his new role as Chairman of the BBC's Studios and Post Production business.
John succeeds John Smith, Chief Executive, BBC Worldwide, who was Chairman of the business since June 2008.
Under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Mark Thomas, BBC Studios and Post Production (S&PP) is the largest studios and post facilities provider in the UK, offering world-class creative and technical production solutions to the media industry.
Working in partnership with a broad range of media companies, over 250 in the last year, it helps create content across all genres for a variety of broadcasters from its sites at Television Centre, Elstree and Bristol.
John Tate said: "I am delighted to be taking on the Chairmanship at this exciting time and trying to build on the very strong performance last year.
"I am looking forward to seeing the business continue to explore new opportunities across the media industry, and to help in its delivery of high quality services to all the company's partners," he said.
