Friday Night Dinner Commissioned For Fourth Series

Friday Night Dinner, the award-winning Channel 4 comedy show, is to return for a forth series.

Big Talk Productions and Popper Pictures have been commissioned to produce a fourth series of the comedy for Channel 4, with Tamsin Greig, Paul Ritter, Simon Bird and Tom Rosenthal returning as the Goodman Family, and Mark Heap once again arriving unannounced as Jim.

In the new series, Jonny gets serious with a 'female', Adam injures Jonny after buttering the kitchen floor, Mum is forced to pretend that her mother has died, Dad invites a friend over who talks with his eyes closed, 'Horrible Grandma' returns for more horribleness, and a terrified Jim has to look after five dogs.

Friday Night Dinner is written and produced by Robert Popper, whose credits as a writer/producer/script editor include Look Around You, Peep Show, South Park, The Inbetweeners, Him & Her and The IT Crowd. He is also the author – as Robin Cooper – of the Timewaster Letters books.

Channel 4's Deputy Head Of Comedy, Nerys Evans, added: "It's always a joy to welcome back the wonderfully doolally world of Friday Night Dinner, and series 4 looks set to be a real corker."
