Skillset Supports BAME Media Workshop

The Indie Training Fund will deliver a free one-day motivational workshop for TV professionals from Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds on how to take the next step in their career on February 15.
The workshop, which has been planned in partnership with Pact and is being funded Skillset's TV Freelance Fund, will help participants to discover their natural strengths, talents and latent potential and learn how to apply them to the workplace to enhance their personal effectiveness and career success and create a career strategy focusing on strengths and interests and devising practical steps for how these goals can be achieved.
Skillset's Chief Executive Dinah Caine said: "Increasing the diversity of our television industry, particularly in senior roles, remains a key priority for Skillset, which is why we are so happy to be supporting this workshop."
The workshop will be led by either former senior training manager for BBC Radio, Sue Ahern or Helen Black, who is the Director of Creative People, which recruits, trains and coaches people in the creative sector.
The workshop has been designed for people wishing to make the transition to a senior role in the television industry. Applicants should have at least two years experience working in the TV industry.
