Skillset Accepting Applications For Scotland Training Fund
Skillset is inviting applications from companies, organisations and individuals to the new Skillset Scotland Training Fund.
The fund, established through a partnership between Scottish Screen and Skillset Scotland to deliver the Sector Skills Agreement for Scotland – a Skills Strategy for television, film and interactive media - is financed by the National Lottery. This complete training and education strategy puts people and their skills at the heart of the success of Scotland’s screen industries.
Throughout 2007 and 2008 they expect to make grants in the region of £500,000 to organisations and individuals to develop, deliver, attend or facilitate screen specific training. Funding programmes and investment guidelines open for application in 2006/2007 are now available on their website.
Small companies with less than 40 employees can apply for up to £10k each for expert HR and training support and resources to develop their staff and internal training systems. Individuals with a minimum of two years professional experience can apply for up to 80% of the costs of training in industry identified priority areas including business skills, new technologies and health and safety.
Individuals seeking bursary support can apply anytime before March 2, 2007. For all other applications from companies and training providers the deadline for applications is January 29, 2007.
