Screen Yorkshire earn Skillset seal of approval
Screen Yorkshire have become the first Regional Training Partner to be recognised by the Skillset Approvals System.
The quality endorsement signifies that Screen Yorkshire have met required organisational standards and demonstrated that the training they offer meets industry needs.
Clive Jones, Head of Carlton TV, Joint Managing Director of ITV and Skillset Chair, said: “As a Sector Skills Council, one of Skillet’s most important challenges is to ensure that training partners and providers deliver standards that meet industry needs and supply highly skilled new entrants to the workforce. The Skillset Approvals System is an industry agreed benchmark that will do just that. Congratulations to Screen Yorkshire on becoming the first Regional Training Partner to earn the industry’s official seal of approval.”
Screen Yorkshire support the broadcast, TV production, film, radio, facilities, computer games and interactive media sectors, delivering training and development programmes to new entrants, freelances and companies in the region.
The agency's main objectives are to create a vibrant and sustainable media sector in Yorkshire, increase participation in the media industries and develop audiences in the region.
Chief Executive of Screen Yorkshire, Jo Spreckley, said: “I’m delighted that Screen Yorkshire have become the first Skillset Approved Regional Training Partner. It’s a fantastic start for our organisation building on an excellent track record in the region. We have a great training team and this award endorses their hard work and professionalism. This recognition shows our commitment to excellence in training and development for the industry in Yorkshire.”
