MUTV Upgrades 2010 Season With Pixel Power

A supplier of broadcast graphics systems, Pixel Power, has announced that MUTV, the official TV channel for Manchester United Football Club, has upgraded its broadcast graphics technology with the installation of a Clarity 3000 unit with 3D, clips and audio options.
MUTV - which is dedicated to coverage of the one of the world's best known football clubs - has made the purchase for two reasons. The first is to improve the on-air look of the channel; the second is as part of a gradual move to a file-based workflow.
Tony Baldwin-Lewis, Head of Operations, MUTV, explained: "We have successfully used an earlier version of Clarity for a long time now, but we wanted to be able to extend and improve our use of graphics and also to be able to export files from the unit for later editing in Final Cut Pro as part of the move to a file-based workflow.
"The Clarity 3000 unit can of course do this cost-effectively as well as operating as a live gallery caption generator. We are very happy with the result and the service from Pixel Power."
Clarity 3000 is a high performance, single channel SD/HD switchable production graphics system with full HD-SDI preview output and capable of all SD and HD standards. MUTV has also purchased Pixel Control Toolbox for drag and drop custom interface creation.
MUTV explored a wide range of technological options, including extensive product trials, prior to purchase. Pixel Power, with its proven track record in the sports graphics arena and its established expertise, won through.
MUTV is available on Sky and Virgin Media in the Uk and via subscription online. Content from the channel is also available overseas on some networks.
