STV May Charge For Online Content

A regional broadcaster may be about to charge a fee for some TV shows online.
The Scottish ITV licensee STV said that it would consider charging for some of its TV shows online but also claimed that it is "on track" to make £5.2m in digital revenue this year.
STV has an ambitious aim of increasing its digital revenue by 75% to £9.1m by the end of 2012 - but new figures point to a need for additional revenue to achieve the target.
The broadcaster has so far made only £1.6m in digital revenue in the first six months of 2010, which is less than half its full-year target.
While ITV intends to launch some form of micropayment system for online content next year, STV said that its much smaller company would consider it only when it had built up a bigger user base.
