Prime Focus Team Win Emmy

Prime Focus' Phitz Hearne has won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Sound Editing for Nonfiction Programming (Single or Multi-Camera) for work completed on Nutopia's epic 12-part series America The Story of Us.
Phitz collected the gong at the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards at Nokia Theatre in Los Angles on August 21.
America The Story of Us was also nominated in three other categories: Outstanding Picture Editing for Nonfiction Programming for Matt Lowe, Outstanding Cinematography for Nonfiction Programming for Dirk Nel and Outstanding Writing for Nonfiction Programming for Jenny Ash.
Prime Focus' Managing Director Simon Briggs said: "When Phitz was nominated, I said at the time that I felt we had a wonderfully talented audio team here at Prime Focus and that this nomination not only recognised the exceptional work that Phitz had put into America The Story of Us, but also reflected the fantastic creative work that's consistently produced by the audio team as a whole.
"Last night's success at one of America's key awards events reinforces that view and is a testament to not just Phitz but also to Rada Danilovic and Alex Bingham who make up the rest of the team that did such fantastic work on this landmark series. I'm delighted for them and for everyone at Prime Focus and Nutopia who worked so hard to deliver such a fantastically creative and high profile series."
The series, from Nutopia, is a complete overview of the history of the United States from the pilgrims to present day. It was introduced on History Channel by President Obama, who told viewers that an examination of the turning points in the nation's history "remind us that our American story has never been inevitable".
Prime Focus' work on the series included sound design and mix by Phitz Hearne, Rada Danilovic and Alex Bingham, grading by Richard Fearon and Graeme Hayes and online editing provided by Ronnie Newman and Alex Pickering.
It was post-produced by Juliet Gonsalves, Will Garbutt and Lou Sutherland-Smith in London and Mary Martin in New York, with production assistance from Dom Roberts, while Sara Hill was the post production executive.
