Roy Palmer helps BAE win £350M contract

Roy Palmer Independent Productions, a Nottingham based production company has helped BAE Systems win contract.
BAE Systems RO Defence has been selected by the UK MoD for the Terrier programme, the next generation air-transportable armoured combat engineer vehicle for the Royal Engineers.
The requirement is for a wide utility vehicle that will support both the current force structure and the future with FRES (Future Rapid Effects System). The contract value is £350 million and covers development, production and the initial phase of Contractor Logistic Support.
A successful part of the bidding phase included the use of a number of videos made by Roy Palmer Independent Productions. The programmes used 3D computer generated images of the Terrier, superimposed onto real backgrounds. This enabled the MoD to see the Terrier in action. A mock up of the Terrier interior was also a key element in the videos.
Roy Palmer the director of the videos explained, “Using 3D computer graphics combined with live action, made it look like the Terrier had not only been substantially designed, but had actually been built! BAE were very happy with the programmes, and I am sure it helped them win this prestigious contract.”
Dave Cole from RO Defence concurred: “From the initial ITT response and throughout the project definition stage, Roy Palmer and his team have provided invaluable support in terms of technical know how and polished presentation in producing videos that demonstrated how the vehicle had been conceptualised, designed and engineered, and then some.”
