Factory Studios Makes Some Noise With Avid

Top London-based audio and visual production house, Factory Studios, has invested in an Avid ICON D-Control ES console.
A high-performance, expandable and digital console powered by Avid Pro Tools/HD, the ICON D-Control ES will enable Factory Studios to record, edit, route, mix, automate, recall and perform other Pro Tools tasks - all from the console surface.
The investment will support a new studio the company has built at its Soho facility, which will allow both stereo and Dolby digital mixing and monitoring in a standalone room.
Having been a Pro Tools user since the company began in 1997, the investment in the 16 fader ICON D-Control ES system will allow Factory Studios to take full control of its Pro Tools/HD system. It will give them greater functionality between the two tools, and enable them to more easily and efficiently handle even the most complex audio projects.
Ben Firth, Sound Engineer/Technical Support Manager at Factory Studios, commented: "We're extremely happy with Pro Tools as our digital audio workflow solution and it's proved to be a world leader in the professional audio industry. After evaluating other offerings, we felt that ICON D-Control ES would be an exceptional addition to our facility and would enable us to continue to create award-winning work."
ICON D-Control ES will be used for a wide range of work including sound design, audio post, music composition, mixing and mastering. Factory Studios' credits include sound design for the BBC Winter Olympic's Trailer, which won the award for Best Titles at the BAFTA Television Craft Awards 2010, as well as recent television commercials for O2, Match.com and Bud Ice.
Paul Hennessy, Vice President of Sales EMEA for Avid, said: "The team at Factory Studios are extremely well regarded in the industry for mixing some of the finest audio projects out there. We're delighted they've decided to continue their long association with Avid and wish them every success for the future."
