HHB launch new Portadrive At AES

With 8 tracks of pristine 24-bit/96kHz recording, flexible on-board mixing and comprehensive timecode facilities, the new HHB Portadrive is set to be the new standard in location sound recording.
Continuing a fine heritage of innovative HHB portable recorders, that have consistently led the way in meeting audio demands within the video market, the Portadrive records audio onto a compact, robust, shock resistant removable 2.5" hard drive in industry standard BWF or SDII formats. This allows full compatibility with Mac and PC-based digital audio workstations, connecting via an optional drive docking station. A comprehensively equipped six into two digital mixer is built-in, enabling the simultaneous recording of a stereo mix alongside 6 discrete inputs. Microphone inputs are of the highest quality with six high-gain, ultra-low noise balanced XLR Mic/Line inputs with individual phantom powering, 'gangable' limiters, attenuation, high pass filter, delay and phase reverse. The 2-channel return input and both the main and auxiliary analog stereo outputs are balanced. Digital connectivity is equally comprehensive with 8-channels of AES I/O on an industry standard 25-pin D-sub connector, 1 x SPDIF input and AES and SPDIF stereo digital outputs. Receiving its West Coast debut at AES, the Portadrive is already eagerly anticipated by the TV and film sound communities, and is scheduled to ship later in the year.
