BAL introduce new passive AES/EBU digital audio splitter

At NAB 2003 BAL Broadcast have introduced a new passive splitter, specifically designed for AES/EBU digital audio signals.
The AS400X is fitted with industry standard XLR connectors, yet provides a very compact and cost-effective method of generating two AES/EBU signals from a single source.
This is clearly an attractive alternative to the use of another AES/EBU distribution amplifier, which would be an over-kill solution in many applications.
Although the AS400X is intended for permanent installations, its small size and low-cost make it an ideal “tool-kit” product for engineers operating in a mobile environment.
This unit has been developed in response to requests from users of its sister product, the VS400M serial digital video splitter.
