Sky 1 Hit 'Pineapple Dance Studios'

A UK based global entertainment company has acquired the worldwide distribution rights to the hit factual reality series Pineapple Dance Studios. Produced by Pulse Films, the 13 x 1 hour series is a stand-out commission by Sky 1 and Sky 1 HD in the UK, where this unique show shifts the lines between documentary, comedy and drama, creating a brand new hybrid of factual entertainment.

Pineapple Dance Studios follows the lives of the teachers, pupils and staff at the famous London studio as they audition, rehearse and perform. More than 200 classes take place each week, covering over 30 styles of dance, taught by industry professionals who choreograph and dance with the world’s leading artists and theatrical companies. Stars such as Madonna, Kylie and Beyonce have all graced its famous floors. This genre-defining series witnesses the joy and the heartbreak, the dedication and devotion, the laughter and the madness of the dance world – all captured in a ‘performance documentary’ that plays fast and loose with reality.
