Digital Sound Projector 'Five Star'

Yamaha's new YSP-4100 digital sound projector - which recently featured on the Gadget Show and been awarded 5 star reviews from Stuff and What Hifi - is being billed as a way of getting 'closer to the action'.
The dynamic high definition 'one -box' Cinema Surround Sound is said to place the viewer right at the epicentre of the action and, according to Yamaha, is a surround sound solutions that dispenses with the need for multiple speakers and a system spaghetti of wires.
Designed primarily for 40 inch and 42 inch flat screen televisions ,the YSP-4100, delivers powerful, high definition, clear and rich cinema surround sound throughout the frequency spectrum.
It works by firing beams of sound off the walls so they reach the listener from many different angles and produces a sensational multi-channel listening experience.
Unlike traditional multi-speaker systems, set-up is a cinch thanks to the automatic calibration system. Optimum beam angles, levels and frequency response are all measured and the whole process takes a matter of seconds.
The soundbar also benefits from utilising Yamaha's very own AirWired technology for wireless and lossless signal transfer from iPod and iPhones. Not only this, but should an optional subwoofer be desired, an AirWired subwoofer kit may also be added to the set-up giving the user the freedom to position the sub anywhere in the room.
One of the most distinctive aspects of the Yamaha system is its ability to decode high definition audio formats so you can enjoy the higher bit-rates that these formats offer, you listen also in a variety of modes including stereo, 5.1 and even seven channel surround sound.
The YSP-4100 is complimented by the new YSP-5100 sound projector, a slightly larger version designed for larger screens.
