Axel Technologies Launches Fuugo

A pioneer in mobile TV software technologies, Axel Technologies, has announced its Fuugo product with a goal to redefine television by greatly simplifying the way people find video and TV content.
Axel indicated that Fuugo is optimized for a range of mobile and portable devices, such as on the Intel Atom processor based netbooks and smartphones and will make it possible for consumers to enjoy personalized TV content on-the-go.
Fuugo is the first TV application for personalizing a content stream by blending content choices from broadcast, mobile, and Internet TV.
Fuugo utilizes social media, recommendations, user metrics and various content sources for presentation of TV and video programs that match your favourites, your interests, and what your social network likes. It is the first product of this new converged TV and entertainment phenomenon called Telefusion.
"Social media, online TV and video services have thrown doubt on traditional TV usage.
"The challenge, however, is the usability and user experience: how to find the relevant content from the chaos of content sources, applications and devices," said Petri Kalske, Chief Executive Officer of Axel Technologies.
"We developed Fuugo to simplify the way users find the programs they want without having to think about where they are coming from.
"Telefusion is about convergence of various content sources and social media services. Fuugo intelligently presents programming based on individual tastes and interests making it the personal TV solution for today's demanding user," he said.
Axel Technologies will be demonstrating Fuugo at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from 15th to 18th February 2010 in Hall 1, stand 1E19.
