MUZU TV Signs Major Music Content Deal With ITN

MUZU TV, the newly launched video platform enabling fans and artists to create their own music TV channels to broadcast on the web, has signed a content deal with ITN
The deal gives MUZU TV access to 80,000 hours of content from ITN Source's rich music archive, consisting of Reuters, Granada and Channel 4 interviews and performances, as well as daily music news and interviews from ITN's multimedia division ITN On.
ITN Source is supplying interviews handpicked by MUZU TV from iconic shows such as 'The Tube', 'Tony Wilson's So It Goes', 'Mike Mansfield's Supersonic' and 'The South Bank Show' - many of which have only been broadcast once and never been screened online before.
Some of ITN Source's most memorable music interviews, include Michael Hutchence and Paula Yates meeting for the first time on 'The Tube', Shakin' Stevens leaping on Richard Madelay on 'Calendar goes Pop' and Madonna's, Ella Fitzgerald's and the Sex Pistols' first UK TV appearances.
The deal will enable MUZU TV to add new content to the existing artists' channels through the deals with major record labels, unlocking the archive of incredible content for users. The agreement also allows MUZU TV to syndicate rare and exclusive ITN Source content through the company's partnerships.
The deal incorporates daily news blasts from ITN On that will run on the MUZU TV homepage - as well as ITN On's own MUZU TV channel. This will include daily music news stories and interviews with current popular artists. Recent interviews from ITN On's music team include Jay Z, Kylie, The Feeling, Cyndi Lauper, Groove Armada and Alphabeat.
Ciaran Bollard, MUZU TV Co-Founder and Business Development Director said: "We are really excited about the partnership with ITN. This deal will give fans access to an extensive archive of incredible classic music content from the last few decades.
"In addition, through ITN On's daily music news blasts, which will be featured on our homepage, fans will have access to music news as it happens from all over the world."
Mark Wood, Chief Executive of ITN, added: "MUZU TV offers great value for music fans bringing professional video content together on one place on the web. We have tens of thousands of hours of exciting music interviews and performances covering the history of recorded music, many of which have been rarely been seen. We're also producing exciting music news blasts via our multimedia division ITN On, giving music fans more access to their favourite artists than ever before."
