Golden Globes Accolade For Avatar

The high-tech Avatar is continuing to sweep all before it as the movie last night reigned supreme at Golden Globes awards.
James Cameron's blockbuster film is already shattering record after records and now looks as if it is going to eclipse his earlier film Titanic as it has dominated the Golden Globe like no other film.
Despite analysts having earlier written off Avatar saying that the film may well not be able to make decent returns on the investment, James Cameron has shown that Avatar have belied all speculations about the film being doomed at the box office.
Last night, Cameron showed them all as he won Best Director's award and Avatar was judged as the best motion picture.
The list of winners also included Best Actress in a TV Series/Comedy or Musical - Toni Collette (United States of Tara); Best Supporting Actor in a TV Series, Miniseries or TV Movie - John Lithgow (Dexter); Best Animated Feature Film - Up.
'Master of Ceremonies' was UK comedian Ricky Gervais who did his best to rip apart NBC, the network airing the show, but also the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, who chose the winners, and various members of the Hollywood audience.
The British creator of The Office opened his monologue with a couple of X-rated jokes about onanism and penile surgery.
He then proceeded to quip that the American version of his BBC show had gone downhill.
Not even legendary personalities were immune to Gervais' barbs. While introducing fellow countryman Paul McCartney, Gervais joked that the former Beatle had flown to Los Angeles in economy class.
