BSkyB & MGM Launch HD Channel

A new high definition movies channel has been launched in a partnership between MGM Studios and BSkyB.
Available now at position 345 on the Sky EPG, the channel titled 'MGM HD', will carry a 24/7 schedule of fully remastered movies from the studio's around 4,000-strong film archive library.
MGM's channels are available in more than 130 countries, with recent launches including HD channels in the US, Latin America, Poland and Israel. This joint venture, will be the studios first branded TV channel in the U.K.
Showcasing the studio's back catalogue, the channel becomes the 37th HD channel available on the satellite platform and the tenth HD station in the Sky Movies section.
In the coming months MGM HD will include blockbusters titles such as 'Annie Hall', 'The Pink Panther' series and 'Moonstruck.'
To access the channel, Sky subscribers need to receive the Dual Movies and HD pack, however, the channel is also on offer on a £5 per month basis.
