ZDFneo Germany RSVPs For ITV Studios' Four Weddings

ITV Studios owned Granada Germany has announced that ZDFneo, a subsidiary of Germany's national public television broadcaster, has commissioned the leading independent producer to make five episodes of the hit UK entertainment forma Four Weddingst.
The news follows on from TLC in the USA recent commission of the format, which will be produced by ITV Studios Inc in the USA.
Four Weddings follows four competing brides and their different nuptials. From proper traditionalists to budget brides to control freaks to pagan ceremonies, while one contestant is getting hitched, the other three guest brides have to pass judgment and secretly score each special day.
The bride with the highest score at the end of each episode wins the ultimate prize a five star dream honeymoon.
Jan Kromschroeder, Managing Director of Granada Germany said: “We believe the Four Weddings format has the potential to be as successful and long-lasting brand. We’re delighted to be working with ZDFneo on our first commission and are looking forward to premiering the series in Germany with ZDFneo this Winter.”
The Four Weddings format premiered on Virgin Media’s LIVING channel in the UK during the summer. Four Weddings is LIVING’s best performing original debuting series and has consistently rated #1 in its 9pm Monday night timeslot across pay-TV, with an average share of 50% of 16 - 34 year olds. Additionally, ITV Studios Inc. in the USA confirmed on 1 October that it has been commissioned to produce a 6-part series of the format for the US broadcaster, TLC.
Remy Blumenfeld, Director of Formats at ITV Studios said: “Four Weddings delivers everything you’d want but were afraid to hope for, as a real guest at a real wedding, plus you get to be as badly behaved and rude as you want. As long as people keep on getting married, I am confident that buyers will continue saying “I do” to Four Weddings."
At MIPCOM 2009, ITV Studios Global Entertainment has launched a portfolio of new and hugely popular formats, including the top rating game-show The Chase and Australia’s number 1 rating Talkin’ Bout Your Generation.
