Digital Rights Group Strikes Kudos Deal

Leading London-based content distributor Digital Rights Group (DRG) has announced its first collaboration with Kudos Film and Television, securing international distribution rights to Lip Service, the brand new original drama series from the award-winning producers behind global hits Ashes to Ashes, Spooks and Life on Mars.
Available to international buyers as a pre-scale at MIPCOM, Lip Service is a bold, sexy and irreverent new six-part drama series about the lives and love affairs of twenty-something lesbians living in Glasgow.
With a funny, yet pathos filled take on contemporary relationships, it is a fresh and engaging drama about love, in all its passion and absurdity. The series will be distributed under DRG's specialist drama and comedy brand Portman Film & Television.
Anke Stoll, Head of Acquisitions and Development at Portman Film & Television for DRG commented: "We are thrilled to showcase this major new drama from Kudos Film and Television - this acquisition is a perfect example of our strategy to offer the best in dynamic and original drama.
"Kudos has an impressive background in creating top quality, internationally appealing content, and we are anticipating great interest for the show at MIPCOM."
Derek Wax, Executive Producer for Kudos Film and Television, added: "DRG has a strong reputation worldwide in drama distribution and we are excited about the international potential of this project in their hands. This is a significant new drama commission for use from the BBC - Harriet Braun has an incredibly fresh, funny and vivid take on contemporary relationships and we are confident that the resulting show will prove to be a stand-out hit for 2010 both in the UK and internationally."
From BBC Scotland for BBC Three in the UK, the soon-to-be-cast series has been created and written by Harriet Braun (Mistresses Series One and co-creator of Attachments) and will film later this autumn on location in Glasgow for transmission in the UK in 2010.
The series producer is Polly Williams (Hotel Babylon Series Three and Four, Holby City) and the Executive Producer is Derek Wax for Kudos Film and Television (Occupation, Flesh and Blood, Sex Traffic) and Matthew Read (Fiona's Story, Phoo Action) for BBC Scotland.
Kudos Film and Television is one of the UK's most successful and original producers of popular quality scripted television and film BAFTA and International Emmy award-winning, the company delivers a range of hit returning series to broadcasters in the UK and internationally.
DRG will be located on stand LR4.23 at MIPCOM 2009.
