SSL Completes Eleventh Production Console Installation At ABC

Following the signing of a delivery contract between Amber Technology and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) for the supply of Slid State Logic (SSL) music production consoles in September 2007, SSL distributor Amber Technology has now delivered and commissioned some eleven consoles across ABC studios and outside broadcast (OB) facilities in Australia.
The contract is part of the global success for SSL's C100 HD live-to-air digital console, C200 HD digital in-line console for live music broadcast and recording, and the Duality large format analogue console. So far, Amber has installed eight C100 HD consoles, two C200 HD systems and one Duality system for Triple J at the ABC.
The latest was a 24-fader C100 HD console at the ABC's facility located within the Sydney Opera House precinct, which is used for live to air broadcast and recording from both the Concert Hall and the Opera Theatre.
Both of the ABC's Melbourne and Adelaide-based OB trucks, each equipped with an SSL C200 HD console, were in action at the recent Sound Relief concert at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. This event was the largest paid concert in Australian history, in support of the victims of Victoria's worst bushfires on record. The ABC recorded and distributed all audio around the country for both radio and the Channel V and Max music video channels.
The Melbourne-based OB truck was also involved in the broadcast of the Bushfire Memorial Event held at the Rod Laver Arena, home of the Australian Tennis Open.
