Camden Yards Rounds The Bases With System Featuring Crown Amplifiers

Reinforcing its position as a leading amplifier technology manufacturer for professional sports arenas, Crown CTs series amplifiers and PIP-Lite modules were deployed for the redesigned sound system at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland.
Home to the professional Major Leagues Baseball team, the Baltimore Orioles, the 48,000-seat stadium, opened in 1992, has received consistent praise as one of the best ballparks in the country.
Sound integrator AVI-SPL performed the installation, which also included BSS Soundweb London signal processing devices. Crown PIP-Lite modules integrate Ethernet-based IQ Network control via 100-Mb TCP/IQ protocol for digital control of analog devices. Since audio signals are not converted to digital,a larger dynamic range is possible. Digital signal control allows for error trapping and a proactive response; provides input compression, multimode average power limiting, peak power limiting, thermal limiter, clip limiting and load monitoring.
