Two Places Left On Red DIT Course

There are two places left on VMI's latest RED DIT course, which will take place on June 3.
This one day workshop will take seven camera assistants and operators from no prior RED knowledge to being able to work in a RED DIT (Digital Imaging Technician) capacity in one day.
IT literacy is essential but no prior experience of RED cameras is required.
The course will cover basic camera setup, camera operation, best practice, bug awareness and data management and is essential preparation for anyone planning to shoot with this exciting new format.
This course will be limited to seven places for maximum hands-on operation.

• Recording onto RED RAID hard drives

• Redcode 28 vs. REDcode 36
• Menu Operation and structure
• RAW and in-camera Luts - Redspace REC709, rawview
• ISO and RAW
• Good working practices
• Data Management
• Common Bugs
• Laptop Management
• Redcine - basic overview
• RED Rushes - basic overview

The course will be given by Tom Turley, RED DIT who has been working on RED cameras since late 2007.
Handouts will be given out on the day and a certificate produced on completion of the course.
The course will be held at VMI Soho, 19 D'Arblay Street, W1F 8ED and cost £200 plus VAT.
VMI have also recently received a number of new products. These include Cooke S4i film lenses, which are the electronic version which sends the lens exposure information to the RED camera; the Panasonic HPX-3700 AVC Intra Camcorder; the IDX CamWave WeVi System; the Panasonic HPX-301 AVC Intra Camcorder; the Sachtler Cine30HD Tripod; the Sony HXR-MC1P HD Minicam; the Panasonic G20 location solid state HD recorder and the ARRI MMB1 Production Matte Box.
