Ashes To Ashes Relives Viewing Past

It was back to the future for the BBC in mid April with the return of BBC1 drama Ashes to Ashes generating an audience of seven million, or just over 29% of viewers at 9pm.
The drama's success exceeded the channel's performance for the year so far of 4.6m (19.1%). Last year it maintained an audience of 5.7m (24.3%).
Made by Kudos in association with Monastic Productions, the latest episode kicked reflected the situation last year, when in February, almost exactly the same audience of 7m (29.1%) tuned in a similar 9pm slot.
Life on Mars, the precursor to Ashes to Ashes, managed to attract an audience of just over 7m three times in its two seasons.
The very first episode on 9 June had 7m (27.4%) while both the opening and closing episodes of the second series also broke the significant milestone.
Ashes to Ashes comfortably saw off all challengers at 9pm.
