Concrete Continues Work For Harry Hill's TV Burp

Concrete has been working together with designer Andy Carroll to create original animation and graphic design for much loved comedy series Harry Hill's TV Burp.
The series, which is an Avalon Television production is directed by Peter Orton and produced by Spencer Millman, the show is recorded weekly at Teddington Studios on Thursday evenings and is transmitted less than 48 hours later.
Harry Hill's TV Burp returned to the box again this year with its 30-minute early Saturday evening prime-time slot. The show is an irreverent sideways glance at the previous week of broadcast television; the programme will be providing more light-hearted humour from Bafta award-winning comedian Harry Hill.
Once again, he'll be taking his audience on a riotous ride as he offers his own hilarious observations on the week's popular programmes and parodies scenes from soaps such as Eastenders, Coronation Street, The Bill and Emmerdale in his inimitable style.
Established Creative Director at Concrete, Chris Jennings, and his Graphic Design Team, work closely with Andy Carroll to create the fun-style graphics. Each week Andy comes into Concrete with the show's script and has a meeting with Graphic Designers Matt Rowley and Abi Tomasiewicz as well as 3D Digital Artist, Al Stiglic to discuss creating the content graphics and animations that Harry Hill will be presenting.
The deadlines are always very tight with a fast turnover to deliver the client's requirements. The team at Concrete are often given the brief to mimic the graphic style of the programmes that Harry Hill makes fun of in his series, some of the work might involve tracking a celebrity's head onto another well known figure's body for effect.
In order to achieve the desired results the dedicated team at Concrete use PhotoShop, Maya and After Effects as their tools with final composition in one of Concrete's Smoke suites with Aubrey Ghansah. Matt Rowley said: "I enjoy working on such a high profile project and it's good to be involved on a really funny programme and seeing the jokes coming in every week. Andy Carroll is also great to work with."
Andy Carroll said: "It's no accident that I've chosen to work with Chris Jennings for many years, with such tight deadlines as I have on Harry Hill's TV Burp I need to be able to trust in a talented graphics team to provide me with a consistently excellent product even when time is short. Concrete has always delivered that level of excellence, on time and on budget."
The last few years have seen TV Burp win three Bafta Awards (two UK and one US), three British Comedy Awards, and a Royal Television Society Award, TV Burp has established itself as a key part of ITV 1's Saturday night schedule, winning audiences of over 8 million, and picking up plaudits from all corners of the press along the way.
The new series of Harry Hill's TV Burp is currently airing every Saturday on ITV 1.
