Zaxcom Deva Used On Academy Award-Winning 'Slumdog Millionaire'

Zaxcom has extended its congratulations to Resul Pookutty, Richard Pryke and Ian Tapp, who received the 2009 Academy Award for Sound Mixing for their work on the hit movie 'Slumdog Millionaire'.
The trio, who relied on the Zaxcom Deva to complete sound mixing for the film, was recognised for their achievement in sound mixing on February 22 during the 81st Academy Awards Ceremony held in Los Angeles.

The Zaxcom Deva provides 24-bit multidisk, multiformat location recording with backup to DVD-RAM or CompactFlash. The ability to background-record multiple disks throughout the day saves precious time in feature-film and episodic-television production by allowing users to record all disk copies required by post at the same time as the original recordings.
Production staff can immediately reference previous recordings on set, reducing potential disputes with post and providing extra copies of recorded audio in the case of lost, damaged, or stolen material.
The Deva 5.8 features eight integrated hardware faders, an internal DVD-RAM drive and a Flash media slot, making it the only professional audio recording system to provide complete recording, mixing and effects capabilities within one lightweight package. The Deva 16 provides the same trademark Zaxcom feature set with support for recording up to 16 audio tracks.
Zaxcom also manufactures the Deva Mix-12, a control surface for all Devas that features 16 inputs and 18 outputs. The Mix-12 integrates with the Deva to perform all location mix and record functions, eliminating the need for expensive external mixing consoles.
