Business Booming At Broadcast Video Expo 2009

The broadcast and video industry was 'buoyed-up' last week by the frenzy of activity at Broadcast Video Expo 2009 at Earls Court, London, which saw Hall 2 packed with end users and buyers from across the media.
Kieron Seth of Broadcast Video Expo said: "Judging by the activity at last week's show, 2010 will not be a stand-still year. The interest shown at the event in new tapeless systems and adopting improved workflows clearly shows that the industry and manufacturers are working together to mutual benefit."
Liz Cox, JVC Professional Europe's Marketing Manager, said: "Broadcast Video Expo was a fantastic launch platform for our two new tapeless camcorders. The show generated plenty of interest for JVC - with customers looking at the simple workflow we now offer."
The emphasis of this year's show was on bringing the industry together to learn about new opportunities and new technologies. The Quantel show bar, Visual Impact seating area and the Red Bee cafés were all packed throughout while seminars, workshops and conferences played host to over half the visitors.
Roger Stanwell of the IABM commented: "The halls were busier than many expected with lots of networking in evidence.
"Even if fewer deals were being concluded, BVE certainly demonstrated the importance of trade shows in maintaining relationships in preparation for the upturn."
BVE 2009 recorded 11,503 visitors (excluding exhibitors) - up on last year and the highest ever attendance figure for a UK show in this sector.
Bookings for the 2010 Earls Court show are also at record levels.
