Flame TV Uncovers Driberg Truth In First BBC Four Commission

Popular factual and lifestyle producer, Flame TV, has received their first commission from BBC Four for 'Who was Tom Driberg?', a documentary about the infamous former Chairman of the Labour Party and alleged spy.

In 'Who was Tom Driberg? Flame TV goes in search of the real man, talking to some of the MP's surviving friends and colleagues, and to experts in the murky world of spying. It's a journey that takes the audience to public schools, Oxford, luxurious country houses, the back streets of the East End of London. left wing labour politics and the seedy bohemia of post war Britain. Above all the programme will uncover the truth about Tom Driberg and discover if he really did betray his friends and his country.
Claire Featherstone, Director of Production for Flame TV, said: "Flame TV is dedicated to making compelling factual programming, be it day-time consumer shows, investigative journalism or strong docu-dramas, all of which strive to reveal the true story behind the headlines and the famous faces."
Mark Bell, BBC Commissioning Editor, Independents, said: "Tom Driberg was one of the most outlandish figures in post war British politics; extraordinarily a young William G Stewart was a witness to what went on. This will be a fascinating insight into the underbelly of the 1960s."
