High Level TV Provides Bird's Eye View At Broadcast Video Expo
High Level TV, a unique service in the field of film/TV production and outside broadcast programme making, launched yesterday at Broadcast Video Expo on stand OB2.
Delivering sophisticated aerial video shots for sports, news and drama applications, High Level TV provides Film/TV production companies and outside broadcasters with an on-location, affordable aerial filming service that enables the capture of the bird's eye view or top shot.
The High Level TV team have a fully equipped vehicle on the stand at Broadcast Video Expo providing visitors with a full demonstration.
The system consists of a mobile film unit, which can include a pre-specified camera as required by the customer or comes fully-equipped with a broadcast quality camera on a fully-controllable pneumatic mast, mounted to a 4x4 vehicle or van.
High Level TV is able to provide switchable HD/SD SDI cameras and recording facilities. The camera is controlled remotely from inside the vehicle providing a continuous 360 degrees shot if required. Material can be recorded to tape or disc and live feeds can also be provided to production crews for monitor and record.
Ian Leslie, High Level TV's Managing Director commented: "A huge benefit comes from the speed, accessibility and easy set up of the system and equipment. With the ability to travel quickly from location to location at a moment's notice, the team can shoot anything up to a height of 26 metres and be ready to film in less than 15 minutes from arriving onsite. This makes the system truly unique."
The High Level TV system is an ideal solution for location managers to scope a shot. The 26 metre mast and remote camera will create the opportunity to see what's in the background, over a fence or behind a wall, with the ability to use stills or video to record the view - useful when the director requires a top shot. The quick and easy re-positioning of the High Level vehicles provide the opportunity to see shots from multiple viewpoints ensuring that all potential items that may impact on future filming are identified.
Providing a cost-effective alternative to helicopters and cherry pickers, the High Level TV service can capture that all important top-shot or aerial view of the action. Its instant mobility means a vehicle can be repositioned at any time.
