Calrec launch entry-level digital surround broadcast console

Calrec Audio are set to launch their Sigma 100 medium format digital audio production console at NAB2002, booth L2263.
Designed to offer similar specification and functionality to Calrec’s S2 analogue console, of which nearly 100 have been sold worldwide, Sigma 100 is Calrec’s second all digital production console.
Based on time-served Alpha 100 digital architecture, Sigma is designed to be scaleable and provide high levels of redundancy, with swappable cards and panels throughout.
Aimed at production facilities that do not require large format consoles and cannot sacrifice reliability or technical specification, all channels include four-band EQ, separate filters, compressor/limiter/expander gate, surround and stereo panning and Mix-Minus outputs.
Sigma also features four surround main outputs, 12 Auxes, 24 MT and eight Groups, with 5.1 and Stereo Monitoring with full Dolby E integration.

Targeted at large news studios, medium-sized general purpose production studios and Outside Broadcast vehicles, Sigma is available in four cost-effective processing/input configurations and three frame sizes with a variety of input and output interfaces. These packages ensure no excessive expenditure is needed to meet the demands of busy, medium-sized studios.
