Media Distributors Delivers Remote Station For Grammys

Media Distributors, a leading provider of services, systems and products for professional audio and video production has announced that its Remote Station, a turnkey on-location post-production system, was used for the live pre-telecast webcast, at which most of the awards are handed out, of the 50th Grammy Awards, on February 8.
The Remote Station provided video editing and compression capabilities for the webcast stream, which was available live from: www.grammy.com from 1:00 to 3:45 pm PST, from the Los Angeles Convention Centre. The stream was also made accessible as an on-demand feed for 30 days following the event.
The Remote Station, consisting of a road-ready HD editing system secured in two Anvil style road cases, was installed by Media Distributors' Nathan Adams in the Fox Sports Bar of the Staples Centre.
Each Remote Station includes a high-end Panasonic SD/HD-SDI video monitor; Genelec reference speakers; Mackie audio mixer and customised, latest-generation Apple Mac Pros running Final Cut Studio 2. The detachable accessory-case lid features folding legs to form a comfortable and study editing desk for on-location use.
