Framestore Scoops Two Top Awards At Imagina 2009

This year's Imagina Awards, held in Monte Carlo on February 5, 2009, saw Framestore win two of the nine awards.
The company's work on 'The Dark Knight' - which included the astonishing digital make-up for Harvey Two-Face - was honoured with the 'Best Visual Effects' award, while the commercials team were recognised with the 'Best Commercial' award for Monster Stork.
Although unable to attend the ceremony in person, team leaders Tim Webber (VFX Supervisor, 'The Dark Knight') and Dan Seddon (3D Supervisor, Monster Stork) both sent words of thanks to the Imagina committee.
Webber said: "We were one of the two key digital effects providers for 'The Dark Knight'. And it gave us a fantastic range of problems to solve and solutions to devise. The Framestore team approached their tasks with incredible intelligence, resourcefulness and dedication."
Dan Seddon noted with pride the new approach to feather creation that he and his team had developed for the eponymous bird in Stork, also paying tribute to William Bartlett, the spot's VFX Supervisor and lead compositor.
The Imagina Awards - part of the European Digital Content Creation Festival - have won a reputation over the years as the benchmark for worldwide computer graphics and special effects production. They have become a significant competition, synonymous with creativity, discovery and diversity. The awards are given to the best graphic works animated using digital technology, based not only on their technical qualities but also on the emotions they generate.
