The awards were presented at a special reception during the Streaming Media West conference and exhibition in Los Angeles. Digital Rapids' success marks the first time that any company has won four Streaming Media Readers' Choice Awards in the same year.
Digital Rapids' StreamZHD live and on-demand encoding system was voted as the best high definition (HD) hardware encoder. The standard-definition StreamZ encoding system, powered by the DRC-Stream hardware, was honoured as the best SD hardware encoder.
