FilmG Final Call For Entries
FilmG, MG ALBA's first Gaelic short film competition is drawing to a close after an exciting six months.
The competition, which has been supported by a host of celebrities including BAFTA-winning director Don Coutts, playwright and scriptwriter Ian Finlay MacLeod and adventure-cameraman Keith Partridge ('Touching The Void') will close for entries on December 1.
With a total prize fund of £35,000 and excellent broadcast development opportunities with MG ALBA on the new Gaelic channel BBC ALBA, this is a unique chance for new and up-coming film makers to showcase their talent.
There are still a couple of weeks before the closing date so the FilmG team are urging anyone with an interest in film to submit their work as soon as possible.
Speaking about the competition, 'Still Game' star Greg Hemphill said: "Short film is a great stepping stone towards a career in the film industry and should always be encouraged."
The public can view and vote for the favourite film on-line at: www.filmg.co.uk from December 8. A special 'People's Choice' award will be presented to the film with the highest number of votes.
FilmG will showcase the short-listed films at an awards ceremony at Eden Court Theatre, Inverness, on February 6, 2009.
