Hireworks Invests Heavily In New Avid Systems

Hireworks, the Pinewood-based film and TV editing equipment rental company, is continuing its current expansion by investing over £300,000 in new Avid technology.
The new systems include five Avid Nitris DX Systems, two Unity Systems and four Media Composer Adrenalines.
The systems were all ordered direct from Avid and add to Hireworks' impressive stock of equipment available for dry hire.
The company has been growing steadily since its launch and as executive Chairman Lawrie Read said: "We have won a number of exciting contracts for both film and television productions over the last six months, with more on the way. We anticipate demand staying strong in the coming months, so we felt it was a good time to invest in more equipment to enable us to continue our growth strategy."
Hireworks have also just won new contracts to supply editing technology to four high profile new film projects - all shooting in a number of separate locations including Shepperton, Ealing and Elstree Studios - they also supplied HD vtrs to the upcoming Bond movie 'Quantum Of Solace' and the complete editing set up to the sixth film in the Harry Potter series 'Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince'. All this activity illustrates the company's continuing expansion.
Hireworks specialises in the dry hire of editing technology - specifically Avid, Lightworks and Final Cut Pro. In April 2008, the company purchased London Editing Machines and has now expanded into offices in Pinewood, Teddington and Soho.
Recent projects include: 'Little Dorrit' (BBC), 'Harley Street' (ITV), 'Euro 2008' (BBC), 'Lark rose to Candleford' (BBC), 'Rock Rivals' (ITV), 'Bonekickers', 'New Tricks', 'Primeval' & 'Tess of the D'Urbervilles' for TV.
Film projects include 'Quantum of Solace', 'The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas', 'Mamma Mia', 'Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince', 'Hippie Hippie Shake', 'The Other Man'. In addition, live events include Euro 2008, Glastonbury and Reading music festivals.
