Panasonic Officially Launches New Online Museum
Panasonic has announced the opening of a new online museum that pays tribute to nine decades of design developments and innovations to commemorate its 90th Anniversary.
Available in more than 20 languages, the Online Museum (www.panasonic.eu/designmuseum) not only provides information on innovative products and historical milestones, but also includes an exclusive collection of "cool" designs taken from its rich history.
The Online Museum is structured to include four sections: product timeline, company timeline, design ethos and R&D activities.
Visitors to the museum will learn a lot more about many of the innovative products that have helped shape Panasonic into the innovator it is today.
In addition, the Online Museum also explains how Konosuke Matsushita succeeded in converting his company into the electronics giant it has become today.
As part of the 90th Anniversary celebration, Panasonic will also be devoting a small area of its booth at IFA to its corporate history.
Panasonic will be displaying a few of its many product innovations, including an attachment plug from 1918 that was the company's very first product, the company's first radio from 1931, its first VHS recorder from 1977 and a P2 camcorder from 2004.
Meanwhile, last January, Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. announced that the company will officially change its name to 'Panasonic Corporation' in October.
By doing so, the company is paying tribute to how well known the name Panasonic is all over the world.
This brand unification measure represents a bold step forward towards creating a truly global corporation.
Even with the name change, the company will continue to run its business based on its founder Konosuke Matsushita's business philosophies.
