OmniBus Announces Shipping Of ITX

OmniBus Systems, a provider of comprehensive broadcast automation and content management solutions, has announced that it is shipping version 1.2 of iTX, the next-generation software solution that makes the conventional broadcast automation, master control and playout chain obsolete.
iTX version 1.2 includes a range of new features and functions that significantly extend the power of the system for broadcast, web streaming, mobile TV and business continuity applications.
Support within iTX for one of the industry's first deployments of 1080p24 playout capability has also been announced.
Embracing the requirements of both large high-end broadcasters and smaller media operations, iTX 1.2's numerous enhancements include schedule preview; Omneon reference file support allowing direct content read and playout of Omneon files from within iTX; multiple language support with instant language track re-assignment and support for Omneon language stacking; an exceptionally flexible audio engine with native Dolby surround encoding and input/output remapping; support for multi-regional breaks and opt-outs; automated insertion of evergreen content for disaster recovery; capabilities for newsflash and roll-under situations; closed captions; enhanced control of a wide range of external devices such as routers, VTRs, subtitlers and graphics systems; and live instant playback for news and sports programming.
OmniBus CTO Ian Fletcher said: "The watchwords for this new version of iTX have been flexibility in a wide variety of scenarios and broadcasting environments, together with the powerful new capabilities for very demanding operations requested by our larger broadcast customers.
"iTX retains its core strengths of versatility and the ability to respond instantly when changes are required on-air, and now adds tools and features that solve some of the most difficult problems facing broadcasters today, such as the correct handling of Dolby-encoded surround sound. iTX new 1080p24 capability is a really significant breakthrough, offering broadcasters for the first time a ready-to-run system that delivers the highest quality images consumer equipment is capable of receiving."
Combining and exceeding all the functions of a conventional transmission chain in a single, integrated suite of software applications, iTX is flexible, open and feature-rich, and offers a significantly more configurable and responsive end-to-end solutions for a wide range of operating environments.
With market-beating support for SD and HD, and exceptional ability to integrate with third-party systems, iTX delivers the most powerful solution available while significantly reducing the investment required to launch and operate high-quality channels in broadcast, IPTV, mobile TV, disaster recovery and business continuity applications.
