Euphonix System 5 MC For New Facility Fundamental Studios

It has been revealed that one of the few studios in Ireland equipped with a full Euphonix System 5 console is located just 25 minutes drive from Ireland's M50 in Newcastle, Co. Wicklow.
Owner Robin Ball launched Fundamental Studios recently and already the client list is showing healthy growth.
London-based audio specialists KMR Audio Ltd provided and installed the equipment that forms the heart of the new studios including the Euphonix console, Apple Mac Pros running ProTools HD and Audio Logic and channel strips by API and Neve.
Robin Ball explained: "I was recommended to contact KMR after speaking to friends and colleagues in the industry who praised KMR's reputation and their ability to get anything for a client. I had dealt with other UK-based companies before and didn't necessarily have a great experience."
He continued: "KMR were great. I basically supplied an equipment wish list and explained what I wanted to do and KMR just got on with it - they were very attentive and if there were any problems they sorted them out straight away."
Most of the equipment list published on the Fundamental website was supplied by KMR apart from the drum kits, the ADAT Bridge and the Digidesign 888. KMR also carried out the wiring, using Van Damme cabling and bays.
KMR's Keith Malin added: "Robin is basically an equipment supplier's dream. He had a very clear vision of what he wanted, was technically very proficient, patient, professional and above all a thoroughly nice bloke. To my mind, what made him such a great customer will make him such a great studio owner, engineer and producer. That, and the stunning array of outboard and processing we supplied!"
Fundamental Studios opened in February 2008 and has already attracted a number of Irish acts. A musician himself, Ball, says the studio reflects his passion for music and already he has seen artists including Aoife Moriarty, Angel Pier, Paddy Sharkey, label Celtic Collections, Cathy Maguire, Marz Roche and the highly talented Siobhann Parr making recordings there and praising the results.
Robin is keen to develop his business by partnering with publishing and record companies to offer production facilities for developing their acts. He is also happy to deal with bands direct that he feels have commercial potential.
