KMR Announces New DAV Electronics BG7 Unit Available

High quality audio specialist KMR Audio have been exclusive distributors for 5 years for DAV electronics, which makes products that are essentially Decca designed outboard units as used in Decca's legendary 'Broadhurst Gardens' studio in West Hampstead.
This small British company, based in Twickenham, was formed in 1997 by an ex Decca Record Co. service & design engineer of 28 years and has recently launched a new unit: the BG7 - Microphone Pre-Amplifier & Limiter/Compressor.
KMR Sales Manager Keith Malin explained: "These units have quickly gained an enviable reputation because they simply outgun products costing many time the price. World Class Artists can probably use any equipment they want regardless of price but still use DAV's wonderful boxes."
The BG7 is known as The DAV Channel Strip, a Microphone Pre-Amplifier & Limiter/Compressor which includes, in channel 1, a mic amp with D.I. the features of which consist of low noise and low distortion, switched gain controls for high accuracy level setting (4 dB steps), D.I. Input (high impedance), level indication, high pass filter (switchable), 26dB pads (switchable), phase reversal and 48v phantom supply (switchable).
The mic amp can be linked to the Limiter/Compressor (switchable) in channel 2 which features low noise and distortion (the Decca 1977 circuit brought up to date) and other features including recovery time switched (1secs and 0.3secs), threshold calibrated in dBu ref. output level, LED metering and limiter/compressor on/off switch. It also boasts overall low noise and distortion and input gain control to +20dB.
Recent clients for DAV Electronics include: Sting (2 x BG8 8 way Mic pre-amps for his 'Songs From The Labyrinth' Asian Tour), Mark Knopfler's 'British Grove Studios' (a battery of BG boxes), Pink Floyd's Dave Gilmour (10 x BG8 on tour and a BG1 in the studio) and Coldplay producer Ken Nelson (BG2, BG3 and BG4).
