Glasgow indie on the move

Increased production and a growing creative team have prompted Glasgow indie Caledonia Sterne & Wyld to move to larger offices in time for the company’s 10th anniversary.
CS&W’s new city centre headquarters is a 1500 square feet office at 147 Bath Street. “The old Queen’s Crescent office served us well,” said MD Seona Robertson, “but we’ve simply outgrown it. We have a terrific team in place and we want them to work in a comfortable environment that they’ll enjoy. We believe that an attractive workplace will bring out the creative best in them.”
Recently the company used a £40,000 Channel4/Scottish Screen development grant to appoint Inge Sorensen as Head of Development. The company has now been joined by Margot Cunningham as Head of Programmes, and former Scottish TV staffers Val Lyon and Ken Neil as Producers.
The move to Bath Street follows a recent restructuring of the company’s management. Stephen Foster, Deputy Chairman of Scottish Screen and a former Managing Partner of accountancy firm Grant Thornton, has become non-executive chairman. He said: “I have known and respected the work of CS&W for almost a decade now and was delighted to have been asked to join the team. There is a clear strategy of growth and profitability being pursued by a talented and businesslike team.”
Brian Murray, who was CS&W’s production accountant, is now Financial Director. Founding Directors and shareholders Seona Robertson and Les Wilson are respectively Managing and Creative Directors
The company is currently producing a one-hour investigative history documentary (BBC Scotland/CCG) about the notorious Appin Murder.
