ZDF Selects Kaleido -X Multi-Viewer For Flexibility And Image Quality

Miranda Technologies, which develops, manufactures and markets high-performance hardware and software for the television broadcast industry, has announced that ZDF, Germany's largest public broadcaster, has installed a Kaleido-X multi-image display processor at its Capitol Studio production facility in Berlin Zollernhof.
Configured with 96 video inputs for display over eight LCD screens, the Kaleido-X system will monitor HD/SD signals with embedded audio from ZDF's national and international bureaus.
The facility is used for a wide range of programming, including the political flagship shows 'Frontal 21' and 'Berlin Direkt'.
Kaleido-X offers the highest level of signal flexibility without any source grouping restrictions. It is capable of displaying multi-format signals at different sizes, and in any position, without losing any image quality.
With Kaleido-X, a mouse can be used to instantly change layout configurations, assign inputs, and dynamically zoom one source larger for quality control, or audio monitoring of an on-screen source.
ZDF has also purchased a smaller, Kaleido-K2 multi-image processor and four Kaleido-Alto-input multi-viewers from Miranda, as well as eight DVI-Ramp2 DVI to HD/SD video interfaces for live extraction of web graphics.
ZDF plan to use further equipment from Miranda for Studio projects.
Miranda Technologies has its headquarters in Montreal with facilities located in Wallingford (UK), Springfield (New Jersey, USA), Paris (France), Tokyo (Japan), Beijing (China) and Hong Kong.
