Signiant Announces Integration Of New Digital Media Solution With Final Cut Pro

Signiant Inc., a leading developer of digital media distribution management solutions for the telco, media and entertainment industries, has introduced the Signiant Media Solution, a turnkey software solution, specifically designed to integrate with Apple's Final Cut Studio 2.
With Signiant's Media Solution for Final Cut Studio 2, editors can overcome the delays and unpredictability associated with global post-production environments, particularly across the wide area network and other highly latent infrastructure.
Tony Lapolito, Vice President of Marketing at Signiant, said: "Post-production bottlenecks are frequently caused by network latency.
"Signiant's Media Solution will allow editors using Final Cut Pro to get accelerated and secure file transfers with automatic notification of transfer status and delivery confirmation, allowing quick production of dailies, and freeing up time to focus on the task of editing, resulting in higher production quality."
Signiant's Media Solution for Apple allows Final Cut Pro editors to manage file acceleration in a familiar Apple interface and a secure, integrated environment.
The solution provides real-time feedback on transfer status, including automatic success and failure notification.
It also allows users to centrally manage and prioritise Apple transfers with other traffic on the network, ensuring that priority files are allowed the most bandwidth. This compensates for TCP/IP inefficiencies and latency effects across the network.
The solution supports file-based, secure and accelerated transfers between Final Cut Studio systems running on Mac OS X-Leopard (10.5) and Tiger (10.4) on both Intel and PowerPC-based hardware.
The product will be generally available in spring 2008.
