Doremi Launches Asset Manager At NAB 2008

Doremi is launching the DoremiAM asset manager at NAB 2008. This is the latest software to offer comprehensive easy step-by-step operation for the import of universal media files to a wide range of Doremi players and servers.
DoremiAM XP/Vista PC software is available free of charge. It can operate with many types of file and coding formats for the automated Gigabit transfer of media files as well as offering transport control for Doremi servers. The 'universal' digital media includes multiple video containers such as QuickTime, WMV, AVI and MXF. Supported codecs include Blackmagic 8-bit, Photo JPEG, MJPEG, Apple 'none'm H264, MPEG-2, DV, DVCPRO25, Avid DNxHD, xvid and divx. Image formats are TIFF, TARGA and JPEG. There is audio support for MPEG (Layer I, II, III), WAV and AC3.
The Doremi servers that can take advantage of DoremiAM include the high-end uncompressed V1U (SD), V1-UHD (HD) and V1-UHD/LE (HD) disk recorders. This will soon be expanded with the next release adding the V1-HD JPEG2000 server and the DSV-J2 JPEG2000 player (up to 2K).
DoremiAM allows setting up media file imports that include conversion into the native formats of the Doremi servers such as NTSC, PAL, 720p, 1080p, 2K. Once the conversion is done, transfers can proceed to complete the whole plug-and-play transfer process.
Besides the media import DoremiAM also provides intuitive transport control so users can browse among the available media files and select those for playback into an Import Media Files list. With the automated Gigabit transfer of media files, the whole operation can be run from one place. The Nugget player (MPEG-2 SD HD ES) gets special treatment with the additional benefit playlist generation and local or remote playout control.
Doremi Labs, based in Burbank, California, is a leading developer and manufacturer of video servers for the professional video and audio markets. Its V1 family of VDRs is a market leader with 10,000 installations worldwide - including over 4,000 in Europe.
Doremi started in 1985 with the instant-success DAWN workstation for audio post production.
Today Doremi Labs and the European Doremi Technologies continue to innovate and focus on providing video, audio and now, more recently, D- and E-Cinema professionals with a new range of DCI-compliant cinema servers from the Doremi Cinema division.
