Lambert Sets Up Studio In Soho
Stephen Lambert has set up a new independent TV production company.
A former RDF Media chief creative officer Lambert, who hit the headlines over the controversial ‘A Year With The Queen’, will launch Studio Lambert in partnership with All3Media, one of the UK’s largest independent production groups, with Lambert taking the role of chief executive.
A former head of documentaries at Channel 4, Peter Moore will join him in the new venture’s headquarters in Soho, central London.
Lambert said: "We all wanted to be involved in building something new.
"We are delighted to be working together and for my part, I am really pleased to be starting afresh with such a great team.
"We are looking forward to announcing soon the names of several other colleagues who will join as we get going."
Steve Morrison, All3Media’s Chief Executive said: "Stephen Lambert is one of Britain’s most recognised creative talents. His programmes are known around the world.
"He has already attracted a formidable team to his new company. We at All3Media are delighted to help help them launch Studio Lambert."
Lambert resigned from RDF in October after admitting that he had edited a preview tape of a BBC documentary about the Queen that appeared to show that she was storming out of a photo-shoot, when she in fact was walking in.
The debacle ensued when then BBC1 Controller, Peter Fincham showed journalists the tape at the 2007 autumn season preview in July last year.
It emerged that the tapes had been edited for foreign broadcasters at industry programming market Mip TV in Cannes three months before and had not been intended for use at the press screening in the UK.
Lambert has been responsible for devising popular formats such as 'Life Swap' and 'Faking It' in his time at RDF.
