Lights, Camera, Action For Poole

Borough of Poole is hoping to harness the power of the internet to make the town a top destination for film-makers who are looking to produce their next movie.
An online web directory - www.locationpoole.com - is being developed by the council with the help of local performers, crews and suppliers, to promote Poole as a location for the film industry.
The directory will offer a 'one-stop shop' for film and television companies looking for locations in and around Poole. It will also provide details of local businesses and individuals able to offer skills and services to visiting production companies using Poole as a film location.
It is hoped the web-based directory will boost the local economy by attracting more film-makers to use Poole as a location, while also providing opportunities for creative and skilled people to work locally, instead of travelling outside the area to find employment.
Richard Randle-Jones, Senior Economic Development Officer, Borough of Poole, said: "Poole is becoming very popular as a film location. Production companies are regularly contacting us about coming here to make their next project. The amount of support companies require to make a film is immense. We want the film industry to know that this is a place to be creative and we are doing everything we can to meet their needs.
"The proposed project will create a local web based directory of local locations, performers, crew, suppliers and council support to help any film company make the best use of our area."
